Protea Ridge

Mkhambati Route

One could easily spend an entire day on this incredible hiking trail. Leave early and come home in the afternoon. Catch a lift down to sea-level to the Msikaba river mouth, cross it and keep going. Tide depending, you may need to use one of the Protea River she canoes moored at the river to cross this obstacle. Once over the river, its a flat and easy trail where one can easily expect to see a variety of game, including large herds of Eland. Spend a few hours around the Mkhambati and Horseshoe Falls and hike home again.

A great option is to spend the day cycling this amazing route too!
